Support Groups

Bereavement support groups offer participants a safe, caring environment where they can work toward healthful healing. Community groups are offered free of charge to anyone in our area who has experienced the loss of a loved one.

Monthly support groups are available as well as sessions throughout the year for special groups such as groups for parents who have lost a child, groups for those who have lost a spouse, groups designed to give you ideas for coping with holidays and special events without your loved one here to share in the celebrations, and our 4-week Healing Grief Series.

Joining in HSC’s support groups will help you in understanding the grief process as you work through your loss. Through the programs, you will connect with other people who are experiencing similar losses and receive reassurance that your feelings of grief are normal. As you give and receive support, you will be able to find continued meaning in life.

One of our support group participants confirmed this by saying, “Being able to share my grief with others has given me hope that my life will get better.”
